In the orchard...
For nearly four years after planting, each Royal Pom™ pomegranate plant is nurtured, pruned and trained by hand. About six months before harvest, pomegranate trees are laden with magnificent blossoms - a sign that the first fruit is not far away.
Harvest time...
As summer ends, pomegranate flowers transform to reveal a distinctive crown. Slowly, the pomegranate's rounded shape emerges from the crown and the rind changes from deep green to crimson. Finally, taste-tested and hand-picked pomegranates are transported to the packing shed, inspected for quality, labelled, and packaged for market.
Fresh to you...
Two days after they leave the orchard, Royal Pom™ pomegranates appear at retail outlets around the country. Look for Perfection Fresh's pomegranate educational materials, handy hints on how to prepare and serve them, sampling and cooking demonstrations where you buy your pomegranates.
